Today I found that there’s a difference between “MT” and “Ton”.In Japan, I use only “Ton” when I want to describe the weight, but in India everyone uses “MT” instead. I can’t understand why they use MT, but today I found the reason.
In America, “Ton” means a short ton, which is about 900 kg, not 1000 kg. So, they use “MT” to avoid misunderstanding. I was so surprised to know this!
